Abstract:
As durable as it is, even concrete is vulnerable to deterioration caused by water penetration. Given time and repeated wetting-and-drying and/or freezing-and-thawing cycles, concrete can crack and spall, reinforcing steel can corrode, and roads can develop potholes. Protecting concrete with a water-repellent penetrating sealer reduces or eliminates deterioration caused by water and makes cleaning the concrete surface easier and more effective, extending its service life.
