Abstract:
Located on the Trans-Canada Highway in Cape Breton, N.S., the Seal Island Bridge carries approximately 7000 to 8000 vehicles per day during the peak tourist months of July and August. Closing the bridge to facilitate replacement or rehabilitation projects would have a significant impact on the region's economy. CBCL Limited determined a precast concrete bridge deck with the best choice.
