Abstract:
The properties of high volume fly ash (HVFA) concrete are well documented, but its use is still limited. This article addresses some of the challenges facing the widespread application of HVFA concrete, such as considerations of early strength, initial setting time, and bleeding and shrinkage. The objective is to help engineers and concrete producers to more confidently use increased fly ash percentages in concrete.
