Abstract:
The designer often has the option of using high-performance concrete (HPC) as a means of obtaining the best solution for a concrete structure in terms of structural and architectural behavior or construction feasibility. An economic evaluation is sometimes necessary in order to justify the use of HPC. Techniques and examples for evaluating the economy of different types of HPC, particularly both low-strength and high-strength concrete, are given.
