Abstract:
An article recently appeared in Concrete International that had long tables listing strength reduction factors, f, calculated according to ACI 318-02. Although the tables are useful for engineers performing hand calculations, they may be less useful to those who use spreadsheets as design aids. This article presents a method to incorporate transition zone strength reduction factors into a design spreadsheet.
