Abstract:
Dorfmueller was my appointed tour guide for three days of job site visits in July 2001. He is also a manager at Baker University, the employee-training branch of Baker Concrete Construction, a concrete contracting firm based in Monroe, OH, just north of Cincinnati. Dan Baker is the company’s owner and president and past president of ACI. When I suggested to Baker that, as Manager of Technical Documents in ACI’s Engineering Department, I would benefit from more time on a job site, he invited me to visit a variety of his company’s job sites, “getting my hands dirty and sweating a little.”
