Abstract:
This article discusses the components of an unbonded post-tensioning system and some issues related to tendon installation. Most post-tensioning suppliers only provide technical assistance to contractors on a limited basis; their technicians cannot respond to every field problem. In addition, their technicians typically do not resolve problems with reinforcement congestion or assist field personnel with the interpretation of design drawings. Since these functions are usually performed by the design engineer, it is important that this individual have a good understanding of post-tensioning.
