Abstract:
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) requires contractors working on state projects to submit, for quality testing, samples of materials that will be used in road and bridge construction projects. Samples must pass ODOT’s tests before construction can begin. Delays in receiving test results can cause costly delays for entire projects. However, through ODOT’s new Web-access Construction Management System (WebCMS), receiving test results is now significantly more convenient. Delays associated with the department’s testing have virtually been eliminated with the use of new Internet application.
