Abstract:
In the past, recycling facilities for ready-mixed concrete plants in France have been regarded as unproductive, and consequently an unnecessary investment. But a recent in-depth economic study into the use of such facilities appears to challenge that contention. At Dijon Béton, a French ready-mixed concrete specialist, plant management was concerned about an expected rise in disposal costs as their dump sites reached saturation. In light of increasingly stringent standards in European Union countries, which could herald more restrictive environmental protection measures, Dijon Béton decided to investigate recycling techniques.
