Abstract:
The Möbius strip, named for one of the German mathematicians who analyzed this topological marvel, served as the inspiration for our sculpture “Amobius,” located on the Saint Joseph’s College campus in Rensselaer, Ind. We assembled most of the stainless steel frame and fiber-cement for this sculpture in my studio, and then delivered it to the campus where the remaining stainless steel and cement mixtures were applied. Thus, the students of Saint Joseph’s were able to view the design, fabrication, and assembling of the sculpture as we completed it on campus. .
