Abstract:
Since 1905 ACI has published materials to serve the information needs of the concrete industry. In ninety years ACI's mission has not changed, but the technology available for carrying out that mission has evolved to the point of redefining publishing. The personal computer revolution of the 80s revolutionized not only methods for creating information, but also permanently altered traditional expectations for obtaining and using information. While no one is ready to discard books and magazines, publishing without paper is the fastest growing trend in publishing today. Throughout the last several years, ACI has repositioned itself to be able to take advantage of the new technologies and methodologies for distributing information.
