Abstract:
A point of view piece that is a discussion of questions about the validity of research projects on the broad field of concrete, and how those projects affect (or don't affect) the industry. Views basic research on cementitious materials as most valuable. Critiques research projects that come as a result of academic study, and poses a suggestion for creating better, more useful outcomes based on specifications and recommendations to the structuring of research projects.
