Abstract:
This paper discusses the total system concept and measures to be considered during design and construction of concrete repair projects in order to minimize the need to "repair the repairs." There are significant differences in "new" construction and repair projects. This paper highlights some of these differences. It is apparent that more detailed knowledge of the behavior of repaired system concept in design and implementation, materials, concrete engineering, and education in connection with the durability of concrete repair are emphasized.
