Abstract:
This paper presents a computerized thermal and strength simulation system newly developed by the authors for concrete structures. This system, utilizing computer technology, greatly simplifies the quality simulation and control of concrete structures. The system itself consists of a microcomputer, a thermal simulation system, and a strength control system. By using this system, it is easy to predict accurately and control the properties of the concrete structure, such as temperature history, strength, elasticity, and durability. A full-scale test on a concrete structure was carried out in Tokyo to verify the system's effectiveness. The good results obtained in full-scale testing established its accuracy and efficiency in predicting the strength and elasticity of concrete in actual conditions. Based on these good results, the system was then applied to predicting and controlling the properties of concrete structures.
