Abstract:
The acceptability of concrete on the jobsite depends on the testing ability of the concrete technician. Good technicians will normally provide test results that accurately and consistently determine the quality of the concrete. Poor technicians will normally provide test results that will be inconsistent and will usually underestimate the strength of the concrete. Each mistake and/or lapse in the procedures of making, handling, or testing will normally cause lower test results. Thus, the poor technician will produce results that are lower and with more variations than the results of the good technician. The quality of testing can be improved if the poor testing is identified and management works with the technician to improve procedures.
