Abstract:
In the last ten years, the construction techniques for tall concrete buildings in China has developed very quickly. Characteristics of these buildings include continual increases in heights and number of stories, variation of plan and elevation shapes, variation of structural systems, and utilization of new structural systems. The many structural systems used include frame structures, shearwall structures, and tube-in-tube structures. Foundations on a natural base can be used. When the natural base is solid, strip or raft foundations can be used.
