Abstract:
This study concerns the fatigue behavior of small reinforced concrete beams, 4 x 6 x 64 in., designed to fail in flexure under static load. For this type of specimen, the results clearly indicate that the magnitude of repeated load de-termines the mode of failure. Briefly, a low magnitude repeated load generally will result in a flexural failure, fatigue of the steel, while a high magnitude re-peated load will result in a shear failure.
