Abstract:
Two special techiniques (high-speed slurry mixing and external revibration) were investigated in a research program designed to measure their effectiveness in increasing the compressive strength of high-strength concrete, in the range of 10,000 to 12,000 psi (70 to 84 Mpa). Revibration was found to produce significant strength increases at all water-cement ratios tested and at all test ages. The high-speed slurry mixing technique employed in this program did not produce strength increases.
