Abstract:
In this research, lollipop and slab specimens were monitored for corrosion with linear polarization methods during 48 weekly cycles of ponding with sodium chloride solution and drying. Reinforcing bars were removed and examined. An admixture of salts of an alkenyl-substituted succinic acid prevented corrosion in intact specimens and significantly reduced corrosion in saw-cut specimens compared with concrete with or without two commercial corrosion inhibitors.
