Abstract:
A computer model for predicting the tensile behavior of fiber reinforced cement composites was utilized for parametric studies and optimization of carbon fiber reinforced cement composites. The parametric studies verified the validity of the model through confirming established experimental observations. The optimization process, which was performed based on response surface analysis of the data produced by the model, demonstrated how analytical tools can be utilized as a complement to experimental techniques for the optimization of composite materials.
