Abstract:
An investigation has been made into the effect of several variables of steel fibers on the flexural strength of concrete. Data is presented which shows the effect of fiber length, diameter, shape and content on both first crack and ultimate strength in concrete. Additional data shows the results of two field applications.

As part of a large programme investigating the flexural behavior of full size partially prestressed composite T-beams, three dimensionally randomly distributed steel fibres have been introduced into a limited number of the precast webs. . .The tests show that steel fibre reinforcement can result in some improvement in the flexural behaviour of partially prestressed composite T-beams.
