Abstract:
Although fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement has demonstrated great potential for improving the durability of concrete transportation infrastructure, adoption has been slowed by a lack of a unified strategy for deployment. Citing the successful introduction of prestressed concrete technology as a precedent, the authors call for development, publication, and sharing of standards and design guides for FRP applications.
