The American Concrete Institute (ACI) announced that Dr. Matthew P. Adams, FACI, current Chair of the ACI 323 Committee, member of the ACI Board of Direction, and Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, will serve as a featured speaker at the upcoming C2 Congress: Cement & Green Concrete 2050, May 11–15, 2026, in Santiago, Chile.
The event, hosted by the Inter-American Cement Federation (FICEM), will bring together global experts, industry leaders, representatives of international organizations, academics, and key stakeholders from across the cement and concrete value chain.
Dr. Adams will deliver a technical presentation on May 14 titled “Understanding ACI CODE-323-24: Low-Carbon Concrete.” His session will provide valuable insights into applying ACI standards to improve sustainability and reduce embodied carbon in concrete construction.
The C2 Congress: Cement & Green Concrete 2050 serves as a strategic platform to address critical topics, including decarbonization, circular economy practices, energy efficiency, and climate resilience in the built environment. The program also explores pathways to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 through collaboration, innovation, and the adoption of advanced standards and technologies.
