The American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the Armenian Society of Fellows (ASOF) announced that the two organizations have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to increase collaboration and cooperation between the organizations for the purpose of improving concrete construction. Through the MOU, the technical expertise of each organization will be made available to the other through publications, meetings, conferences, committee membership, certification activities, and other activities as mutually agreed upon. Additionally, the ASOF Seismic Safety Committee will serve as a formal liaison between ACI and the Urban Development Committee (UDC) of Armenia, as well as between the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (NUACA) and the American University of Armenia (AUA), for the purpose of achieving the goals specified in the MOU. The first tangible outcomes of the MOU are already evident. By the end of 2025, the ACI Student Chapter was established at NUACA and received official approval from ACI. The Chapter held its kick-off opening ceremony on January 30, 2026. In addition, the ASOF Seismic Safety Committee is actively collaborating with ACI Certification and the UDC of Armenia to advance the implementation of ACI Certification programs. ACI has fostered closer and more formal relations with many international concrete organizations by signing international agreements. Each agreement is tailored to the particular relationship and identifies common interests, outlines a mutual understanding, and defines areas of cooperation between the organizations.
