PRO: An ACI Center of Excellence for Advancing Productivity is proud to announce that the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) and PRO have agreed to become Allied Organizations, effective October 21, 2025. PTI is a nonprofit organization for the advancement of post-tensioned, prestressed concrete design and construction. PTI’s agreement with PRO underscores a shared commitment to advancing productivity, efficiency, and innovation in concrete construction through collaboration, education, and technology adoption. “Post-tensioning is a key component of modern concrete design and construction, and PTI’s collaboration brings invaluable expertise to PRO’s mission,” said Phil Diekemper, executive director, PRO. “We look forward to working together to find workable solutions that improve productivity of concrete construction beyond historic levels.” As an Allied Organization, PTI will collaborate with PRO and other member organizations to identify barriers to productivity and develop strategies that streamline project delivery. This includes participation in knowledge-sharing programs and outreach efforts that help drive industry-wide improvement. Additional Allied Organizations include the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC) and the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI). “Improving productivity is essential to meeting today’s construction objectives, and PRO connects us to an ideal partner for collaboration and progress,” said Tim Christle, executive vice president, PTI. Established by the American Concrete Institute (ACI) in 2023, PRO's mission is to collaborate with designers, material suppliers, builders, and other industry stakeholders to continually improve the constructability of design and productivity of construction for concrete structures of all types. PRO defines constructability as the effective integration of construction knowledge into the planning and design of a project to optimize its construction cost and schedule and maximize its value to the owner. PRO and its members aim to advance new technologies and processes that improve concrete construction productivity beyond historic levels.
