The American Concrete Institute (ACI) today announced it earned four dotCOMM Awards for strategic marketing and communications initiatives executed in the first half of 2025. ACI staff received awards for various media projects, including video production, website design, and earned media.
Administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), dotCOMM Awards is an international competition honoring excellence in web creativity and digital communication.
Gold Winner: Article or news placement
ACI’s article in Construction News, “What the American Concrete Institute offers the Middle East’s concrete industry,” received a Gold Award in the Earned Media, Article or news placement category. Highlighting ACI’s value proposition to its target audience in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, the article argues that the population growth forecast for the area will increase demand for resources and services, including the need for safe, affordable housing and sustainable infrastructure. ACI’s Middle East regional office and local ACI chapters across the region work with organizations and governing bodies to provide education and training and promote the adoption of ACI standards for high-quality concrete design and construction in building codes.
Honorable Mention: Article or news placement
Also in the Earned Media, Article or news placement category, ACI received Honorable Mention for its article in Industry Europe, “Contributions by the American Concrete Institute to the Worldwide Concrete Industry." Focusing on its members, chapters, and industry audience in Western Europe, the article explains that through certification, education, training, and guidelines for stronger building codes, ACI builds a global concrete community that contributes to a safer, more sustainable built environment.
Honorable Mention: Website element
In the MENA region, ACI received Honorable Mention in the Website element, landing page category. The recognized page highlighted ACI’s 2025 Middle East Conference (MEC). Operated under the theme ‘From Gray to Green,” the groundbreaking event in Dubai was organized in collaboration with the ACI UAE Chapter to explore the cutting-edge practices and innovations driving the concrete and cement industry toward a carbon-neutral future. The landing page used advanced visual design for the MEC logo and straightforward navigation, leading to a high-quality user experience.
Honorable Mention: Product marketing
Lastly, ACI earned Honorable Mention in the Video, Marketing (Product) category for its new ACI Certification video, “Concrete Flatwork Finishing.” The video, shot at ACI locations and at World of Concrete, highlights ACI’s Comprehensive Flatwork Finishing Certification programs. These programs are relevant to a wide range of projects, from big box retailers to sidewalks and driveways, encompassing basic concrete flatwork finishing, specialty commercial/industrial flatwork finishing, and decorative flatwork techniques. ACI's programs cover the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve properly placed, finished, cured, and protected concrete slabs-on-ground. ACI offers over 30 certification programs designed to form a minimum qualification for personnel employed within the concrete construction industry.
