The events will provide an overview of ACI and JCI’s close working relationship The American Concrete Institute (ACI) today announced its leadership will attend the upcoming celebratory event for the Japan Concrete Institute’s (JCI) 60th Anniversary in Tokyo as well as JCI’s Annual Convention in Morioka. As one of ACI’s allied organizations, ACI and JCI share similar missions: to advance concrete knowledge through research, education, and the development of codes and standards, and to exchange knowledge and develop deeper ties throughout the concrete world. Established in 1965, JCI, named initially the Japan National Council on Concrete, was formed out of the ACI Japan Chapter. In 1975, the name was officially changed to the Japan Concrete Institute. “JCI’s 60th anniversary is a moment to celebrate past achievements and look ahead confidently and purposefully. It is an opportunity to recognize the countless contributions of your members ─ past and present ─ whose dedication, creativity, and technical expertise have helped shape the field of concrete technology,” said Maria Juenger, ACI president. “I ─ along with the ACI Board of Direction, ACI staff, and ACI members ─ extend my congratulations to the leadership, members, and advocates of the Japan Concrete Institute. I hope that this anniversary inspires continued progress and future collaboration between our Institutes.” Highlights of the celebratory event and the convention include: “Joint Seminar” featuring ACI and JCI executive leadership and concrete experts. JCI will honor members for 50 or more years and name Fellow Members. Provide an overview of ACI and JCI’s close working relationship and discuss future activities and direction.
