Description:
The objective of SynerCrete’27 is to provide an international platform for interdisciplinary exchange on cement-based materials and concrete structures across their entire lifecycle. Building on the legacy of COST Action TU1404 and the successful SynerCrete’18 and SynerCrete’23 conferences, the event aims to strengthen collaboration between material scientists, structural engineers, researchers in digital technologies, practitioners, and industry representatives. SynerCrete’27 seeks to advance integrated approaches that connect material behaviour, structural performance, durability, sustainability, and lifecycle management. Particular emphasis is placed on multi-scale understanding, from the microstructural properties of cement-based materials to the performance of concrete structures in real conditions, as well as on the effective combination of experimental, numerical, and data-driven methods. Under the patronage of RILEM, the conference will support knowledge transfer between academia and practice and promote links with ongoing international research initiatives. SynerCrete’27 also aims to address the challenges of interdisciplinary collaboration, including differences in terminology, methodology, and research culture, while encouraging forward-looking discussion on digitalisation, automation, circularity, resilience, and sustainable transformation of the construction sector. The event welcomes researchers and professionals at all career stages who wish to contribute to more coherent, innovative, and applicable solutions for concrete infrastructure.
