The ACI Glass Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) Reinforcing Bar Inspector certification program is designed to reflect minimum qualification requirements for INSPECTORS to properly perform jobsite inspection of FRP reinforcing bars used in concrete construction projects. The GFRP Reinforcing Bar Inspector must understand proper storage, handling, and placement considerations specific to GFRP reinforcement. Section 26 of the ACI CODE 440.11 for FRP Reinforcing Bars requires job-site inspection of FRP reinforcing bars. ACI CODE 440.11 is referenced by the 2024 International Building Code (IBC 2024).

This review will highlight the information that an inspector must understand including responsibilities and qualification requirements of the installer, inspection requirements as cited in the documents governing the construction of the project, and the process governing the qualification of anchor systems.

Reference package for the ACI Glass Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) Reinforcing Bar Inspector Program, CP–22 is included when registering for the written exam . ‘Seminar Only’ attendees not registered for the written exam [WERBI] can purchase a copy of CP-22 reference package for $175 at the review seminar to serve as a handout.

IMPORTANT: It is required to enroll in the Review Seminar as a prerequisite to taking the exam [WERBI].

This one-hour, closed-book written exam consists of approximately 30 multiple choice questions and is based on specific points of knowledge included in ACI’s online Job Task Analysis. Technical reference material , CP-22 reference package, is also included with the {Informa code} written exam registration and will be mailed* to candidates prior to the show. Participants who score 70% or higher on the written exam will be issued a GFRP Reinforcing Bar Inspector Certification which is valid for 5 years.

*Reference materials mailed to domestic addresses when attendee registers a minimum of two weeks prior to the show. Examinees from outside the United States can pay separately to have reference package shipped or arrange to pickup onsite at the show.

CANCELLATION: $150 non-refundable fee if examinee cancels registration for [WERBI] written exam.
