NEx Workshop - Polymer Concrete; Applications, Advancements, and Benefits

This session is intended to explore the evolving field of polymer concrete, highlighting its unique properties, diverse applications, and recent technological advancements. Participants will explore how polymer-modified and polymer-based concretes offer advantageous durability, chemical resistance, and rapid curing times, making them ideal for infrastructure repair, industrial flooring, and specialized construction environments. The session will also examine the benefits of polymer concrete in terms of sustainability, lifecycle performance, and cost-effectiveness, as well as use of recycled materials, supported by case studies and emerging research.

Learning Objecitves:
(1) Identify the composition and unique properties of polymer concrete, and how these characteristics are compared to traditional Portland cement concrete;
(2) Examine application areas and performance advantages
(3) Assess recent technological advancements in polymer concrete formulations, including the use of novel resins, additives, fillers, etc.;
(4) Discuss design, installation practices, lifecycle considerations, and long-term maintenance strategies for polymer concrete systems.

This session has been approved by AIA and ICC for 2 PDHs (0.2 CEUs). Please note: You must attend the live session for the entire duration to receive credit. On-demand sessions do not qualify for PDH/CEU credit.
