NEx Workshop - New Advancements in FRP & FRCM Materials for Repair and Rehabilitation of Concrete Structures
Wednesday, October 29, 2025 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, H - Paca
This session explores the latest advancements in Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) fabric composites and reinforcing bars, as well as Fabric-Reinforced Cementitious Matrix (FRCM) materials used in concrete repair and rehabilitation. Session focuses on their innovative applications in the repair and rehabilitation of concrete structures. Attendees will gain insights into cutting-edge research, material performance, and practical implementation strategies that enhance structural durability, sustainability, and resilience of concrete structures. The session will also highlight case studies and emerging trends that are shaping the future of infrastructure maintenance, rehabilitation and restoration using FRP/FRCM materials.Learning Objectives:(1) Discuss the innovative FRP & FRCM systems and how they contribute to the structural performance of repaired concrete elements;(2) Evaluate application techniques and design considerations of innovative FRP & FRCM systems, including surface preparation, bonding techniques, curing processes, and apply design guidelines for effective repair/rehabilitation of concrete structures;(3) Interpret real-life case studies and experimental data to evaluate the effectiveness, durability, and long-term behavior of FRP and FRCM materials in diverse structural repair scenarios;(4) Develop familiarity with current industry standards and codes related to FRP and FRCM applications and explore recent research trends that are shaping the future of concrete repair/rehabilitation technologies. This session has been approved by AIA and ICC for 2 PDHs (0.2 CEUs). Please note: You must attend the live session for the entire duration to receive credit. On-demand sessions do not qualify for PDH/CEU credit.
