242 - Alternative Cements

Committee Mission: Develop and report information on Alternate Cements for use in concrete.

Goals: 1) Define "alternative cements" and distinguish them from other cements and supplementary cementitious materials 2) Develop state-of-the-art reports introducing users to various alternative cements and their use in concrete 3) Disseminate case studies and other information related to practical application of alternative cements in concrete 4) Interface with the ACI Foundation, ASTM, RILEM, and other organizations to facilitate the development of standards, test methods, and specifications for alternative cements 5) Identify research needs for alternative cements.
