YEAR ESTABLISHED: 1965
GEOGRAPHIC BOUNDARIES: The entire province of British Columbia
As ACI’s representative chapter here in British Columbia we work to make these resources available, promote their use and promote best practices and education in concrete at a local British Columbia level. This goal is accomplished primarily through monthly dinner meetings as well as an annual day long technical seminar where technical topics concerning concrete are presented by world authorities. The proceeds of these events as well as dues help fund, amongst other things, annual scholarships as well as grants to concrete related projects at the local technical universities. These events also provide a forum for like-minded industry professionals the opportunity to network and share knowledge of a non-commercial, technical nature. ACI BC Chapter also administrates certification courses such as the “Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1” to help maintain the high level of expertise and professionalism we have here in the BC concrete industry.
