YEAR ESTABLISHED: 1962.
OUTSTANDING AWARDS: 1988, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018.
GEOGRAPHICAL TERRITORY: based in the Puget Sound/Seattle Metro Area and supports the concrete construction community statewide.
The Chapter serves as the local area ACI Library and resides in the WA State Concrete & Aggregates Association Headquarters and collaborates on common programs of interest and events between the two organizations.
The Chapter supports and conducts National ACI seminars in the Fall and Spring as offered by ACI in both Eastern & Western Washington and as topic and interest warrant, an annual WA Chapter Seminar in the Spring.
The Chapter supports WA State College and University student activities relating to concrete construction and provides financial support for Regional and National Concrete canoe programs and qualifying efforts. The Chapter has also sponsored Student concrete related competitions and has provided scholarships in the past to university and college CE & CM Students.
The WA Chapter has 2 active student chapters: WA State University and U of WA.
MEETINGS/EDUCATION/SOCIAL EVENTS: monthly dinner meetings at various locations, which include project tours and technical presentations;
Annual Golf Tournament with affiliated associations;
Workshops, seminars and other events.

AWARDS PROGRAM: Cosponsor of Washington Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards, currently held in September. The EIC recognizes the professional accomplishments in the outstanding use of ready mixed concrete throughout Washington State. Entries are judged by an independent panel of industry professionals comprising of previous award winners. Awards are presented to the owner, architect, general contractor, structural engineer, concrete contractor, ready mixed concrete supplier. WA EIC projects are also nominated to compete in the ACI Excellence in Concrete Awards program.
