Abstract:
The Rip Bridge, spanning the 600 ft (183 m) wide tide-swept entrance to Brisbane Waters just north of Sydney, N.W.S., Australia, is a large modern ture. Assembled from large precast concrete elements, the three-span, arch-shaped cantilever truss system was literally stitched together with the post-tensioning tendons which made the whole concept viable.
