Abstract:
The purpose of this investigation was to determine the distribution of bond stress in pull-out specimens. Thirty-six 6 x 18-in. cylindrical concrete pull-out specimens containing 3/4 in. diameter round bars were test-ed. There were four types of deformed bars and two types of plain bars (hot and cold rolled). The bond stress at the loaded end of all bars except the cold rolled bar, varied approximately linearly with the applied load. The bond stress at the loaded end of the deformed bars was considerably greater than that at the free end.
