Traces history of ready-mixed concrete in Philadelphia., describing in some detail the economic considerations which have influenced its successful development. The market for this material is explained followed by a discussion of various problems faced by . the ready-mixed concrete producer. A description of the organization and the plants is given. Methods of technical control receive considerable attention. The concluding paragraphs outline several interestina studies conducted in the interest of improvement of the quality of ready-mixed concrete.
