Abstract:
Gives the history of development of American portland cement specifications and reasons for de-velopment of the new Federal Specifications for nonstandard portland cements. He describes the principal features of the four new specifications for normal portland cement, high-early-strength cement, moderate heat of hardening cement, and sulfate-resisting cement and discusses practical features of manufacture and use of the new cements.
