Abstract:
Presents available information on aggregates in four categories. (1) Eval uation of aggregate proprties in terms of their influence on the properties of concrete. (2) Methods of determining aggregate properties and the limitations of these methods. (3) Features of aggregate preparation and handlina which have a bearina on concrete quality and uniformity. (4) Selection of aggregate. The report is limited to sand, gravel, crushed stone, and air-cooled blast-furnace slag aggregate. Lightweight aggregate and special heavy aggregate are not covered.
