Abstract:An experimental investigation into the structural behavior of concrete-filled spiral welded steel tubes under axial load is described. The experimental results are compared with the ACI-NBC (1967) requirements, with a previously proposed new ACI-NBC requirement and with the tangent moduli method. Results on the manufacturing stresses in the steel tubes are also given.
