Abstract:
Load-deflection response of prestressed concrete beams with web openings is determined analytically by means of a truss model that includes the effects of progressive cracking. Post-cracking response is based on application of the effective moment of inertia concept. Good agreement between analytical results and experimental results in the service load range is indicated.
