Abstract:The present paper is an overview of some theoretical aspects and practical applications of a simple continuum damage model for non linear analysis of structures. The main motivation for the development of the model is the failure analysis of plain concrete and reinforced concrete structures using the fínite element method. The paper presents a summary of the main features of the model and some relevant applications to non linear structural analysis.
