Abstract:
Wide-module concrete joist deck systems on form-depth girders are especially cost-effective for spans ranging from 30 to 45 ft. They combine economies of forming cost, concrete volume, and reinforcement weight. Use of a 4« to 5 in. slab provides an unassisted 2 hour fire resistance rating. The joists can be formed with segmented steelforms, one-piece steel longforms, or one-piece fiberglass reinforced plastic forms. Use of this cast-in-place concrete deck system is found in many building types.
