Abstract:
Recently, when constructing railway bridges on existing Japanese National Railways we have found it more practical to take advantage of the application of composite girders to bridges, in view of the case of construction, maintenance and repair. However, this type of bridge has not yet been applied to such a high cyclic load as 5 x 106 in Japanese National Railways. . .The conditions to be considered in design and concstruction of this tpye of slab or girder in railway bridges are described. . .
