Abstract:
Presents a method for the design of reinforced concrete girders for their shear strength. The method is based on a theory proposed by Iyengar and Rangan. Fifty rectangular beams were tested to check the working of the design method. These test results indicate that the proposed method of design is completely satisfactory except in the case of beams with single-legged skeleton stirrups.
