Abstract:
Recently the need for information upon the ability of plain concrete to withstand repeated loads has become evident, not only in the design of road slabs but in the interpretation of tests made from concrete roads of different ages. Experiements in compression by Van Ornun, of Washington University, indicated the fatigue element. Since then experiements have been conducted in reinforced concrete by the United States Shipping Board.
