Abstract:
In all of the tests, unless otherwise noted, the block tested is to be of the three oval core type, 8 x 8 x 16 in., to be of 1 : 5 mix, to be of a semi-dry mix having a consistency wet as possible, tamped with automatic tampers and to be hardended in the steam room. Except as otherwise sepecified, the aggregate is to be Elign (calcareous) sand and pebbles grading 0 to 3/8 in.
