Abstract:
A method is presented which simplifies the selection of stirrup sin beams. By expressing the stirrup spacing as a function of the effective depth, d, instead of numerical values, stirrup design is so simplified that the need for charts, tables, etc., are eliminated. Furthermore the values can easily be memorized. Either analytical or graphical solutions provide instantaneous stirrup spacings.
