ACI student members from around the world will design, construct, and test a concrete structure reinforced with fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement to achieve the lowest cost-load ratio.

About the Committee:
The mission of ACI Committee 440 Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Reinforcement is to develop and report information on fiber reinforced polymer for internal and external reinforcement of concrete. The competition is organized by its subcommittee ACI 440-G.

Qualifications and Experience:
ACI Members and including local chapter members, graduate students, professors, and industry professionals who are registered for the ACI Concrete Convention are invited to volunteer for this event.

Expected Time Commitment:
Various shifts will be available ranging from 2, 3, 4, and 8 hours depending on the position. Individuals are needed to conduct beam measurements; operate the testing machine and record failures; team registration; emcee; and presentation evaluators.

Volunteers Needed:
26 (twenty-six open slots)

ACI has more than 15,000 student members and 360+ student chapters located around the world. Twice a year, 500 civil engineering, concrete industry management, and construction management students attend the ACI Concrete Convention to participate in competitions, research, and networking.
