These three web sessions, “Design and Mix Proportioning of “Green” Concrete Using 100% Fly Ash Based Hydraulic Binder,” “Identifying Compositional Factors of Fly Ash Reactivity in Geopolymer Cements,” and “Reactivity Indicators for Activated High Calcium Fly Ash Based Binders,” from the ACI Spring 2012 Convention in Minneapolis, MN, discuss the benefits of using green binders as a cement replacement, analysis of glassy phase composition in fly ash, and reactivity indicators of fly ash. Concrete produced with green binders significantly reduces the carbon footprint of concrete by removing the emissions related to cement production.
